Maxi-Cosi, CabrioFix

Maxi-Cosi, CabrioFix review

RRP: £115.00
Weight: 5.4kg
Group 0+: 0-15mnths

The Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix was considered the best baby car test during the European Consumer Associations car seat tests in the summer of 2007 and has since maintained its excellent safety record.  You can secure the car seat with both a seat belt or one of the bases (EasyFix or ISOFIX).  There is good side impact protection, and integrated sun canopy and includes a baby head hugger.

We have had this car seat for 2 years and are now using for our second child and it still looks as good as new with the exception of slight fading to the colour (we have the red one). The seat is well made and sturdy offering good protection for baby. The seat has a comfortable padded insert with head protector for newborn and small babies, which then easily lifts out to provide a more space for an older, larger baby. There is also an integrated sun canopy is hidden when not in use - it pulls out of the top of the seat and hooks onto the handle, but still allowing space to hold the handle to carry the seat. We use ours along with the isofix base, which is great - it is easy to put in the car without needing to mess around with seatbelts. The base stays in the car and the seat clicks in with no effort at all! It seems to be compatible with many travel systems - we have an iCandy Apple and have found it to be a great combination. On the downside, this seat is fairly heavy (though I'm not sure how it compares to others of a similar style) and the sun canopy gets a bit twisted and doesn't seem very well secured at the bottom corners, but is easily fixed with a bit of fiddling.
