This is a large consultant/midwife-led maternity unit of 5000+ births per annum. The unit was refurbished in 2004 and now offers 10 ensuite delivery rooms, as well as a special integrated birthing centre upstairs, which offers minimal intervention deliveries and a very home-like environment (Direct Tel: 0118 322 7288). Waterbirth facilities are offered although they are situated on the floor below, making it a less popular choice.
