Perrygrove Farm, Coleford, Herefordshire

A day out to Perrygrove Farm is not just a ride on a steam train its a day packed full of activities for young explorers. The railway track is 3/4 mile long and the trip takes 20 minutes and kids can get involved and wave the green flag along the journey. A lot of passesngers get off the train and grab a bite to eat at the covered picnic area at Foxy Hollow. Kids can go on the treasure hunt through the forest as they are given a key to find the hidden treasure. If they don't have any luck with that, they can visit the mini village of tree houses on the edge of the Forest of Dean. The treasure hunt takes becomes a spooky affaire in October for Perrygrove Farm's Halloween special and in December Santa will be coming down the chimney to spend a little time with the children. Adult tickets cost  £6.30 and children £4.90 and the treasure hunt is £1.80 each. Contact the station for public running days. 

We strongly recommend you ring Perrygrove Railway before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Perrygrove Railway, www.perrygrove.co.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Perrygrove Railway hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
