Although the Nene Valley Railway has bigger and more impressive steam engines, to most visitors especially children, the Railway is the home of Thomas. Thomas is the NVR's most famous engine and one of its biggest attractions. See their website for details of Thomas the Tank Engine. If you just want to go along for the ride you can just take it for the scenic views of the meadows and River Nene. Visit The Turntable Cafe and gift shop for a sit down meal or a bite to eat. 

We strongly recommend you ring Nene Valley Railway before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Nene Valley Railway, www.nvr.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Nene Valley Railway hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
