Nature Reserves

Titchwell RSPB

Titchwell, King's Lynn, Norfolk

Titchwell RSPB is a popular local bird reserve on the north Norfolk coast. A good walk from the visitor centre down to the sandy beach takes you past reedbeds and shallow lagoons, which are full of birds. You can sit on benches or watch from spacious, hides.  In the summer they RSPB staff offer regular pond dipping opportunities.  The visitor centre has a great family-friendly cafe (cottage pies/sausages and mash), plus an excellent shop with loads of children's wildlife products, including birdseed and feeders, hedgehog and ladybird habitats, bird books and wildlife games.  Open daily 9.30am-4pm.

I had no idea that this place existed and I've been coming to Norfolk for 10 years! We visited in mid-winter and just stocked up on bird seed and had a coffee in the little cafe, but I'm really keen to do some pond dipping with the children in the summer. We will be back!
