Summer learning at Explore

You may have seen an Explore Learning centre pop up at your local Sainsburys or in a shopping mall over the last 12 months, and this summer is an ideal time to find out what they are all about.

Although children wont unlearn the lessons from the summer term, there is sufficient evidence to say that they do lose 6 weeks of gaining knowledge unless you plan to get through that summer reading list, or can incorporate maths skills into everyday projects.

At the Explore Learning centres they provide computer-based maths and English tuition for children aged 5-14 years which is designed to improve their comprehension, confidence and knowledge of key national curriculum skills. Each child has a specially tailored programme, devised by the centre's tutor, which shows what academic progress is being made. This and the vibrant atmosphere with other children learning keeps them engaged and focused and having fun while they learn.

We love the fact that being based at a local shopping hub means that families can fit learning around the household shop or just to have a change of scene from being at home. There's no need to book so you can pop along any time, and you get up to two sessions per week which is plenty of time to stop them falling behind over the summer holidays.

There are over 60 centres across the UK from Scotland to Cornwall, and this summer they are offering 25% off your first month when you join in July.
