Pupae of soon-to-be butterflies are displayed in a separate area and you might catch sight of an emerging butterfly! Next is the Mini-Beast Cave which houses lizards, snakes and spiders, and then on to the Animal House with rabbits, guinea pigs and chipmunks. Finally, there are exotic free-flying birds in their enclosure with parakeets, finches and cockateels flying alongside doves. For the more active, there are Woodland Walks, and there is a new children's playground with a special section for toddlers, within eyesight of the Pavilion Café which serves children's food as well as smaller helpings of adult's food. Baby-changing facilities too. Various events during the year such as the Railway Children, Wind in the Willows, Goldilocks and the Three Bears u2013 booking is essential. Open all year round except Christmas, Boxing and New Year's Day from 10am to 4pm (4pm in the winter).
