Brockwell Park is one of South London's green jewels. There is an excellent playground (entrance off Brixton Water Lane), a BMX cycle track, tennis courts, ponds, paddling pool, café serving excellent cappuccinos and traditional family meals like macaroni cheese and lasagne. The refurbished Lido is open May-September - and they erect a special paddling pool for small children. There are excellent children's classes run by Whippersnappers, as well as after school and holiday camps. Many events scheduled throughout the year include the Lambeth Country Fair, Easter Egg Hunts, The Big Draw and summer theatre productions. Last but not least is the walled garden (perfect for hide and seek) and the community greenhouses.
