Green's Windmill and Science Centre

Windmill Lane, Sneinton, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

This windmill was once home to George Green who made important discoveries about electricity, light and magnetism. If you take a tour the windmill, you will see grain turn into flour. There are a few hands-on activities for the children and an under fives soft play area. See website for details on activities such as baking, jewlery making and drawing (all for 3+) There is no café so bring supplies. The organic flour produced is available to buy in the shop. Open Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm.

We strongly recommend you ring Green's Windmill and Science Centre before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Green's Windmill and Science Centre, www.greensmill.org.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Green's Windmill and Science Centre hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
