Goodrich, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire

This magnificent castle is still largely intact with its 12th century keep. Lots of special events are staged throughout the calendar including; Easter egg trials, Medieval Knight Trails. Please note that the castle has many steep steps and is not buggy friendly. A new café, shop and visitor facilities are now open. The café serves homemade soups, sandwiches, flatbreads and cakes as well as hot and cold drinks. Open daily 10am-5pm.

We strongly recommend you ring Goodrich Castle before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Goodrich Castle, www.english-heritage.org.uk/goodrich, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Goodrich Castle hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
