Padstow, Cornwall

This is a long, wide, sandy beach looking up towards low headlands and is backed by dunes. To the far end is it still one of Britain's foremost surfing beaches, with the surfing pros riding some of the largest waves in the area (ie not for the inexperienced). Discovering the many rock pools, body surfing, the sand dunes and enjoying the white sand are all popular activities for children.
