Battersea has a whole range of small animals including: monkeys, wallabies, coatis, lemurs, pole cats, otters, meercats, Vietmanese pot-bellied pigs and lots of exotic birds. There are also a number of farm animals with set times for animal encounters (telephone ahead of time to find out when this happens).

They have a shop which you are funnelled through on your way out, a great café and a fantastic hut which is a great birthday party venue. Under 2s free. Open 10am-6pm daily during summer months - ring for winter closing times (closed Christmas and Boxing Day).

We strongly recommend you ring Battersea Zoo before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Battersea Zoo, www.batterseaparkzoo.co.uk, to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Battersea Zoo hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.

We love Battersea Zoo. My 2 have nearly grown out of now, but it's so much better than dragging them round London Zoo which is really too big for under 5s. Our favourite animals are the otters. Also my DS (aged 3) had a fab party there with a few friends from nursrey.
