Sydenham Hill Wood

Crescent Wood Road, London

This historic woodland area is fun to explore and full of interesting sights. It's managed by London Wildlife Trust and is the largest remaining tract of the old Great North Wood. There are a few small ponds dotted around the woods that are a haven for wildlife, attracting ducks, geese, frogs, toads and other wildlife.

We strongly recommend you ring Sydenham Hill Wood before you set off on your family day out, to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices. It may also be worth visiting the website for Sydenham Hill Wood to see if there are any special events on the day for which you may have to book a ticket. Please also be aware that if Sydenham Hill Wood hosts birthday parties, this may limit the access in the cafe/restaurant areas.
